Recently, a great friend and ally of Polygon Marketing, Caroline Mill, passed away at the age of 51. She had been diagnosed with cancer just three weeks earlier.

Caroline was part of the Polygon story from the mid 90’s when we supported Gulf Lubricants with marketing and PR initiatives. In 1997, when Gulf was sold by parent company Chevron to Shell, Caroline later joined Bovis Homes. We worked alongside her for the next decade, providing a range of services including media buying, PR and promotional support, to drive footfall to new homes developments across the South West.

When Caroline later took up senior management roles with Strand Homes and more recently Rude Wines, she would continue to turn to Polygon when specific marketing and PR support was required. The camaraderie that had built up over three decades was based upon trust and mutual respect. The ease with which she could see the best path through even the most complex challenges was one of her greatest qualities alongside her pragmatism and calmness in any situation, even when those around her were not!

It wasn’t, however, because of her business acumen that our relationship flourished for 30 years. Caroline was kind, gentle and caring with a wicked sense of humour delivered in her ‘girl from the valleys’ Welsh lilt. Put simply, she was a joy to spend time with, in or out of work. It is an unbelievably sad time for everyone who knew this wonderful woman and we send our heartfelt condolences to John, Joshua, Verity and all of Caroline’s family.
